Psychic disorders after surgery of the anterior communicating aneurysm

Abstract
A 21 year-old-male was admitted to our clinic, with semicomatose state. Prior to admission, he had had an episode of severe headache and two attacks of unconciousness.
Neurological examination showed semicomatose state, marked stiffness of the neck, and positive Babinski¢¥s sign bilaterally.
The right carotid angiogram revealed a huge aneurysmal sac on thee anterior communicating artery which was pointed anteriorly and marked vasospasm on the A1 and A2 portion of the right anterior cerebral artery.
The aneurysmal sac was successfully removed by clipping and evacuation of hematoma through the bifrontal cranial approach.
Post-operative course was uneventful except for some psychic disorders which Blasted several months.
Discussion and review of literatures for psychic disorders (Korsakoff¢¥s syndrome) after surgery of the anterior communicating aneurysm were attempted.
